10:00 PM CST TEXAS GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION STILL TOO CLOSE TO CALL 10:00 PM CST, Tuesday, November 4th, 1986 Ward: "Taking another look at the Gubernatorial election results between incumbent Governor White and former Governor Clements. Yes. You've guessed it: it's too close to call because neither Eyewitness News or the Associated Press can project a winner at this time. According to our Decision Desk, Governor White managed to gain some momentum for the moment.... as he's leading by only 796 votes. There's just about 83% of the precincts reporting with only 17% of them left with more votes being cast as we're speaking.
